When couples begin planning their wedding entertainment, the conversation almost always starts with music.
What songs do we want to hear?
What’s on the do-not-play list?
What should we choose for our first dance?
And, of course, who can keep the dance floor moving?
Those questions matter.
But after more than two decades behind the booth, I’ve come to believe that exceptional wedding entertainment is about something much bigger than music.
It’s about hospitality.
When we think about hospitality at a wedding, we tend to think about the venue, the catering team, the planner, or perhaps the hotel. We don't always think about the DJ.
But we should.
Because from the moment guests begin arriving until the final song of the evening, the DJ is helping shape how the celebration feels.
And that responsibility goes far beyond choosing the next song.
